This book documents by story and photos the progression of auto racing on the fairgrounds covering nearly a century of racing. Racing began with midgets, progressed to stock cars, bugs, modified and super modifieds, champ dirt cars and back to midgets over the course of 60 years.
Meet the Author

I am a life long fan of auto racing and got hooked on the sport with my family prior to high school. I finally started attending Tulsa Speedway on a regular basis as a high school student in 1963. I started writing race recaps on Tulsa for National Speed Sport News that same year and soon joined the staff of the Speedway News in 1971. In 1974 I became Speedway News editor and continued in the role into the 90's after the track moved away from the fairgrounds.
I am still involved in racing around the area and felt a book was needed to document the history of racing on the fairgrounds with hopes the past will not be forgotten.
I hope you enjoy this book.
